Elbow classification Elbow standard elbow usage range Elbow technical requirements
Introduction
Elbow is a commonly used connecting pipe fitting in plumbing installation,It is used to connect pipe corners and change the direction of the pipe.
Other names: 90° elbow, right-angle bend, love bend, stamping elbow, pressed elbow, machine-made elbow, welding bend First class.
Purpose: to connect two pipes with the same or different nominal diameters to make the pipelines 90°, 45 °, 180° and various degrees of turns.
The bending radius is less than or equal to 1.5 times of the pipe diameter, which belongs to the elbow, is larger than the pipe diameter Diameter1.5times belongs to the elbow.
Technical requirements
1. Since most pipe fittings are used for welding, in order to improve the welding quality, the end All parts are beveled, leaving a certain angle and a certain edge. This requirement is also relatively strict. There are regulations on the thickness of the edge, the angle and the deviation range. The surface quality and mechanical properties are basically the same as those of pipes. For the convenience of welding, the steel grade of the pipe fittings and the pipes being connected is the same.
2. All pipe fittings must undergo surface treatment. The iron oxide scale on the inner and outer surfaces is blasted off through shot blasting, and then coated with anti-corrosion paint. This is for export needs. Moreover, domestically, it is also to facilitate transportation and prevent rust and oxidation, so work in this area must be done.
3. The requirement for packaging is that for small pipe fittings, such as export, they need to be made of wooden boxes, about 1 Cubic meters, it is stipulated that the number of elbows in such a box cannot exceed approximately one ton. This standard allows sets, that is, large sets and small sets, but the total weight generally cannot exceed 1 tons . For large items y must be packaged individually, such as 24″ must be packaged individually. The other is packagingMarking, marking should indicate the size, steel number, batch number, manufacturer’s trademark, etc.

Based on the production method, it can be divided into pushing, pressing, forging, casting, etc.
Based on manufacturing standards, it can be divided into national standard, electric standard, ship standard, chemical standard, water standard, American standard, German standard, Japanese standard, Russian standard, etc.
According to its radius of curvature: it can be divided into long radius elbow and short radius elbow. Long radius elbow refers to the outer diameter of the pipe whose radius of curvature is equal to 1.5 times, that is,R=1.5D; short radius Elbow means that its radius of curvature is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe, that is,R=1.0DR=1.0Dpan>. (D is the diameter of the elbow, R is the radius of curvature).
If divided by pressure level: there are about seventeen types, which are the same as the American pipe standards, including: Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40s, STD, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80s, XS; Sch80, SCH100, Sch120, Sch140, Sch160, XXS;The most commonly used ones are STDandXS.
According to different shapes and uses, it can be divided into: grooved elbow, ferrule elbow, double-bearing elbow, flange elbow, reducing elbow, and seated elbow , Internal and external tooth elbows, stamping elbows, push elbows, socket elbows, butt welding elbows, internal wire elbows, etc.
